The one day IBSM was held at Taj Vivanta, Khanapara Road, Guwahati on 10th March 2022.
The Buyer Seller meet was formally inaugurated by Shri Atul Bora, Hon'ble Minister of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Veternary, Govt. of Assam in the august presence of Dr.Ashish Kumar Bhutani IAS, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Govt. of Assam, Dr.M.Angamuthu IAS, Chairman, APEDA. Mr.S.S.Nayyar, General Manager, APEDA, Mr.U.K.Vats, General Manager, APEDA, Mrs.Vinita Sudhanshu, General Manager, APEDA, Ms.Sunita Rai, AGM, APEDA were also graced the occasion.
The International Buyers attended the event were from Netherlands, Greece, Singapore, Bangladesh, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman. The domestic buyers attended were from Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai, Karnataka and Delhi. One to one introduction of the buyers were done during the program.
At the IBSM, exhibitors from across the state displayed a wide range of their agricultural products. The products on display included fresh fruits, vegetables, processed food products, black rice & red rice, pulses, maize, biscuits, cookies and bakery products, honey, dairy products and processed meat. Besides Organic tea, coffee and spices were also the attractions. Agriculture and horticulture from across the Assam displayed a wide range of their products to importers.
The objective of the IBSM was to provide opportunity to the producers and processors of Assam to showcase their products to promote the exports as well as wholesale and retail sale. The BSM created awareness about the focused products from Assam ranging from Fresh Fruits, Vegetables, Processed Food Products, Variety of Rice includes Black Rice, Red Rice, Sticky and Non sticky Rice, Pulses, Maize, Biscuits, Bakery Products, Honey, Dairy products, Processed meat etc.
This event created a strong link between the producers and processers of Assam thereby broaden the base of the export pockets in the state of Assam viz-a-vis increase the employment opportunities by improving the livelihood, doubling the farmers income through exports, creation of manpower for export marketing and awareness of exports of fresh and processed food products from this State.
NDC has been assigned the work of setting up of Design Resource Centres (DRCs) at 8 Weaver Service Centres of DC (Handlooms) by NIFT under the support of Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India at different locations across India.
NDC conducted exclusive exhibitions of handmade products developed by artisans at various locations across India
